Trama: Soul Eater Not è uno spin-off di Soul Eater, cronologicamente si colloca prima dell'inizio della serie regolare. La protagonista della storia, Tsugumi Harudori, è una quattordicenne che si è appena iscritta alla scuola Shibusen. Essendo una buki (arma demoniaca dall'aspetto umano) deve trovare un meister che diventi suo partner, ma invece ne incontra ben due: Anya, una ragazza tsundere proveniente da una famiglia nobile, e Meme, una ragazza smemorata che non ricorda mai nulla. Al loro primo giorno di scuola le tre diventano amiche e si iscrivono al corso di studi NOT (sigla di Normally Overcome Target) che si propone di insegnare agli studenti a controllare le loro capacità, in modo che anche le buki possano vivere una vita normale nonostante le loro abilità di trasformazione.
